I thought I would post the pictures of my handmade cloth dolls before a certain little lady takes them!
My niece fell in love with Twilight, she's not perfect as she was my first attempt but little T loves her and kept asking if she could have her for her birthday in August - how could I refuse my favourite 5 year old?
The eyes are a rather uneven but she has character! I've now found a fine line vanishing pen so the next one should be a little better.
Before I got the pen, I made another doll for my mum-in-law to give to little T. I think Strawberry girl is an improvement, I'm happier with the clothing but there's still some way to go, practice makes perfect and I enjoy making these so much!
Again, this doll definitely has attitude!
No matter which direction I take, somehow I always seem to come back to making dolls, I think maybe this is where I need to be focusing more. I always find I make mistakes on the first attempt at a new item, the more I make the better I get, and frustrating though it is, I learn loads from my mistakes too.
The next post I will focus on the easy way to make a book cover. I have found loads of online tutorials but somehow never seemed to get the measurements right. I made loads of "not quite right" covers and now have an easy to adapt method which I will share soon - no-one's following me yet (sulk lol!) so I may be shouting in the wind... or the ether, but I'm starting to enjoy blogging - even if it's only to me!
